Flip Flops No.2 R.I.P

Another pair of Flip Flops have bit the dust, the first pair were destroyed long ago by Spots, one of our dogs, but this pair was destroyed by simply being attached to my incredibly busy feet! Be grateful this blog isn't in smelly vision!

Faecal Conservation Fund

My life at the moment currently revolves around cheetah poo, I am spending so much time collecting it that I feel it entering my pores, my dreams and even my soul. From the moment I wake to the time I go to sleep I am consumed with finding it and putting it in nice little bags. Why I hear you ask? Well, above is a bag of cheetah poo and its contents just may hold the answers to life’s many intriguing questions such as who really killed JFK, was Elvis taken by aliens, is there a big foot and ultimately the meaning of life itself!

So hold on to your butt’s folks because after I have collected all 700 samples the answers to these questions and many more will be revealed!!!!

PS – Kate, you owe me BIG time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Boskop Fellowship

The rainy season is still very much with us at the moment, I experienced the biggest thunderstorm of my life a couple of weeks ago where a thunder clap sounded like a bomb going of just above my head!

The recent rains also resulted in two rivers flowing across the main road we use to go home to Boskop! But us Boskopians are hardy folk and we were not going to be denied going home and having a nice cup of tea! So around 10pm we were driven to the rivers and dropped off where we then proceeded to wade our way through ice cold water up to our knees and walked the rest of the way to Boskop braving the leopards and other foul beasts lurking in the darkness.

Come the morning the rivers had gone down but we still had to brave the water and the foul beasts. But we made it and got to CCF in time for breakfast and that all important cup of tea!

The Goran-ator!

This is a tribute to Goran who we wish we could make clones off because he has been absolutely awesome during his all too short stay here at CCF. Goran would go about any task asked of him with steely determination and would put in a huge effort to get the job done. Thanks to Goran our feeding pens have never looked better, the stairs to our drinking towers are fixed, a new run area is in place for our young cubs and our newest dog, Sulinda, who was very shy found a friend when she needed one most. Goran was always looking for a job to do and at the age of 62 he put everyone else who complained about hard work to shame and so we all now refer to him as the Goran-ator!!!! And being from Sweden I also found a fellow Abba fan!

In tribute we will always refer to his favourite scoffler as the Goran! Goodbye Goran we will miss you!
